PCM vs Dolby True. “300″ Bluray, Am I missing something?Ok. So I expected to see a thread like this eventually - I just did not expect to see myself start it. I went in to this release FULLY expecting the two tracks to sound the same minus a small volume difference MAYBE. BUT NO. There is a HUGE difference. The PCM track is much fuller and distinct accross the front soundstage. I really do not hear much of a difference across the surrounds. Maybe a touch more "in your face" but not much imo.So what is going on? I touched up the Dolby.

MP3s Made Me DumbMP3s Made Me DumbThat isnt to say that my IQ has in any way suffered at the hands of the miracles of algorithmic digital compression, in some ways its even quite the contrary. The problem isnt that my overall cognitive function has been hindered, but instead, its my desire to find out what the next newer/better/faster/cleaner/quieter/louder/meaner/cooler/neater audio breakthrough might be.
