The Downfall of HD-DVD
Why is digital old 4:3 fullscreen narrower than analog 4:# fullscreen on TV broadcastI don’t understand, there is about an inch and a half difference on either side for a total of three inches larger for old analog signals. I do not see any distortion and I do not notice any slight bars on the top an bottom. Is the digital squeezing or is the analog stretching or perhaps oversize? I remember my old TV, you could see more image was slightly available beneath the plastic. Is his more viewable in digital making it smaller in the process?

Sound dampening materials - need recommendationsI live on the top floor in my apartment complex and would like to dampen the vibrations and noise from my subwoofer so I can play it fairly loud without bothering the neighbors below me. Can anyone recommend materials to help with the subwoofer and surrounds and also material that I could place on a door?
HD-DVD Player ReturnsI stopped in to Best Buy yesterday, and did a double-take when I saw a table full of "open box" items: stacks of Toshiba HD-DVD players. Is this happening across the country, in lieu of the WB defection and Paramount/Uni/Dreamworks switch gossip?
