What are the best speakers you have ever listened to
Home theatre on a budgetI am not sure if this the right place to post this. I am looking for some advice.I am setting up a home theatre. The room is 13ft x 22ft, the chairs and couch will be about 16ft from the tv. My budget is $3,000. The only thing I know about hd tvs, blu ray, and audio is what I have been reading the last few months on the web. I have gone into various retail stores to ask questions and check prices as well. Right now I plan on buying everything online.Here is my list.1) TV-Samsung.
Smallville: Buy Now Or WaitI’ve enjoyed this series from the beginning but haven’t picked up the dvds yet, I would like to but I have a question. The season sets aren’t as expensive as they were but with the last 2 seasons being put out on blu-ray I was wondering if anybody has heard about seasons 1-5 being re-released on blu? So I guess I’m wondering should I wait for just get the releases that are out now.
Lee’s Miracle at St. AnnaThis is one film that’s on my fall to-see list. Although Spike Lee often makes headlines for other reasons, you can’t deny the man’s talent. His latest film, Miracle at St. Anna, really seems like Lee is branching out stylistically. Much more "Inside Man" than classic Lee. I’m excited. Any other fans? Jut got a Denon 2808CI and was wondering.Hey all,Well, it happen as it tends to — I go out and help my friend get a really nice flat panel and I accidentally get a break on that new receiver that I just "had" to get. Anyway, I picked up, er, lugged out, a Denon 2808CI yesterday and so far I gotta say, I haven’t found the setup nearly as easy as I have read about. I am pretty technical, but the workflow of assigning a surround mode to the current channel is pretty wonky–when I press the Parameter button, it blacks out my screen,.
Vertical Banding issue in 52″ Sony LCDI have a Sony KDL-52w3000 52" LCD HDTV which has always had a slight vertical banding issue - a 1-2 inch soft white line that runs down the screen towards the left quarter side that only shows up when colors are on the grey side. It doesn’t overtake the picture but is in the background. I’ve heard that this banding issue is a known problem with LCDs, and the set only has another month left on the warranty. Is it worth fixing, or is this just an LCD quirk that I have to live with?
